Pahela Baishakh celebrated at CoU

Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year 1425 was celebrated amid traditional festivities and enthusiasm at Comilla University (CoU) campus on Saturday.CoU authority along with different departments and socio-cultural organizations organized various programs to welcome the Baishakh at the university campus.

Authorities took out a ‘Mongol Shovajatra (procession of good wishes)’ in the morning from in IMG20180414112816front of the Administration building. The procession ended at Baishakhi Chattar of the  campus.Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Emran Kabir Chowdhury led the Mongol Shovajatra.All students, teachers,  stuffs and Organization joined on the Shovajatra.After that VC visited different department and cultural organizations stall at Baishakhi Chattar. To celebrate the day, a colourful cultural program began at 2 pm.

All departments, different socio-cultultural organization of the university including Theatre,  Platform and Protibarton performed on the program.Wishing peace, happiness and prosperity of the people and the country, CoU VC Dr. Emran Kabir Chowdhury said,”Baishakh is an integral part of Bangali culture. The Bangalis are celebrating the Pahela Baishakh as a universal and non-communal festival for a long period of time which united all walks of people.”
