National Cricket team jersey has come to be seen as the symbol of love and passion for the game among the millions of cricket fans of the country. As the national team is on a purple patch, the team jersey has become a source of inspiration for the entire nation.
In this backdrop, the cricket fans from the length and breadth of the country will now get a rare opportunity to demonstrate their love for the much revered game by taking part in a competition titled “Odommo Jersey Design Contest”.
The jersey design contest will be organized by the leading mobile phone operator and the proud sponsor of the national cricket team – Robi in partnership with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Channel I will be associated with this design contest as media partner. This came at a press conference held today at the Home of Cricket in Mirpur.
Robi’s Chief Operating Officer Mahtab Uddin Ahmed; BCB’s Chairman for Marketing and Commercial Committee Kazi Inam Ahmed and Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Channel I were present at the press conference.
At the press conference, it was announced that any interested contestant can submit their jersey design from 17 August to 31 August 2015 to take part in the competition. During this period, Robi and BCB will organize a number of on-campus promotional activities in the country’s major fashion institutes to shore up support for this unique contest located across the country. Students of these institutes can submit their design during the on-campus activities.
Besides, one can also submit their jersey designs by sending an email.
The jersey designs received during the submission phase will then be shortlisted by the judges’ panel. The Judges’ panel will be comprised of BCB officials, cricketers, renowned artist, fashion designer and fashion icons
Following the shortlisting process led by the Judges panel, a total of 11 jersey designs will be selected. These selected 11 deigns will then be advertised by Robi along with the design codes assigned to them. While promoting the selected designs, public voting will be requested to determine the winning designs. Public voting will be invited through SMS and online platform.
For voting through SMS, Robi subscribers can vote with SMS by typing <selected design code> and sending it to 22020. For online voting, one has to visit www.wearetigers.com.bd.
Voting phase will take place from mid of September till the end of September 2015. After the voting round, the Grand Finale will be held in October 2015, after eid vacation. In the Grand finale, winner of the Jersey design contest will be crowned. The winner of the jersey design contest will win prize worth a whopping 5 Lac Taka. Besides, the top eleven designs chosen by the people & the judges will also be unveiled at the Gala event.
The best design adjudged by the people through the voting system, will be used as the National One-Day International Cricket team jersey.
