Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) inaugurated its’ 96th Branch at Charbhadrasan in Faridpur on 17th November 2016. The Presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League and former MP Mr. Kazi Zafarullah formally inaugurated the Branch as Chief Guest.
The Director of the Bank Mr. A. K. Azad was present as special guest while the Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Farman R Chowdhury presided over the ceremony. Among others the former President of Faridpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Awlad Hossain Babar, 
Barrister Pallab, Clients of the Bank, Local Industrialist and prominent Businessmen were present in the opening ceremony.
In his speech Mr. Kazi Zafarullah said, private commercial Banks are contributing more to the overall economy of the country. The private commercial Banks are one of the major partners of government’s development of the country. On the other hand this sector is playing a pivotal role for creating new employment situation, exterminates poverty, expansion of all trade & Business as well as generating new entrepreneurs in the country.
In his speech, Mr. A. K. Azad said, Shahjalal Islami Bank is contributing to the national economy. The Bank is also investing in new productive sector and working for the expansion of business of the Country. On the other hand the Bank will invest on agricultural based industry in future, Mr. A. K. Azad stated in his speech. Mr. Azad also urges to the government to set up an economic zone at Charbhadrasan in Faridpur.
Managing Director Mr. Farman R Chowdhury discussed elaborately about the Bank’s deposit and investment Schemes. The Bank is working to bring back all classes of people to take them under banking services.
The opening ceremony included reciting from the Holy Quran, Milad Mahfil and Doa was held at the Branch premises. An ATM Booth has also been inaugurated in the same day at Charbhadrasan Branch premises.
