Saudi-built cyclone shelters to be handed to BD
A total of 170 cyclone shelters funded by the Kingdom will be formally handed to the Bangladesh government this week in its coastal capital of Chittagong.
Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, chairman of the King Abdullah International Foundation for Humanitarian Activities, which funded the program, will leave for Dhaka on Monday to present the newly built shelters to the the Bangladesh government.
During the 2007 Cyclone Sidr, the Kingdom was the first country to donate $100 million to help Bangladesh in its relief efforts.

BD to buy electricity from Tripura at Tk 6.44 per unit
Bangladesh struck to a deal with India on Saturday over importing 100 megawatt electricity from the Palatana power plant in Tripura of India.
The state minister for power, energy and mineral resources, Nasrul Hamid, in a meeting with Tripura’s power minister fixed the electricity price at US$ 0.8 per unit. The price stands at Tk 6.5 and Indian 5.5 rupees per unit.
The power import is expected to start from February.
