AIBL opens branch at Laxmipur
Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. opens its 130th branch at Bazar Main Road, Laxmipur on 29 May 2016, Sunday. Director of the Bank Badiur Rahman inaugurated the branch as Chief Guest. Director Alhajj Abdul Malek Mollah and Administrator of Laxmipur District Council Alhajj Md. Shamsul Islam were present as Special Guests while Managing Director Md. Habibur Rahman presided over the ceremony.
Head of AIBL Comilla Md. Fazlur Rahman delivered the welcome speech. The occasion was addressed by prominent businessmen Md. Masudur Rahman, Raju Ahmed, Dr. Nurul Islam 
A slave in Scotland
What’s left of the Stewart hotel sits on a steep hill overlooking sheep-flecked fields, tumbling hedgerows and distant snow-capped mountains in Appin, west Scotland. Even in its prime, the 37-bedroom hotel would have been an eyesore, but now it’s a wreck, the windows smashed, the roof collapsed by months of winter rain.
Just a few years ago, hundreds of tourists passed through this hotel each summer, drawn by the natural beauty of the West Highlands. According to scathing reviews on TripAdvisor and other travel websites, the view was the only good thing about the hotel. Archived posts say the rooms were filthy, the taps broken, the food inedible. Many reviewers complain about the staff, describing them as overwhelmed, unskilled and incompetent.

IBBL donates jeep to DMP
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) has provided a jeep to Dhaka Metropolitan Police for Diplomatic Zone of Gulshan Division. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the bank hands over key of the jeep to Md. Assaduzzaman Mia, Commissioner, Dhaka Metropolitan Police on May 28, 2016, Saturday. Md. Mosharraf Hossain & AHM Latif Uddin Chowdhury, Executive Vice Presidents, Islami Bank along with high officials of the both organizations were present on the occasion. As part of Corporate Social Responsibility, the bank donated a total of seven cars to DMP this year.
SJIBL awards scholarship brilliant students
Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) awarded scholarship among the brilliant and poor students of the country. In this regard scholarship award giving ceremony has been organized on 28th May 2016 at Officers Club, Dhaka. The 500 students from different Colleges, Medical Colleges and Universities received the Scholarship for their brilliant result. Each student receives taka twenty thousand for SSC level and taka twenty five thousand for HSC level in onetime basis. Since 2006 Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. is disbursing Scholarship among the poor and brilliant students.

Int’l expo on bldg construction, woodworking begins
A three-day twin international tradeshows on building construction and woodworking industries titled ‘2nd Bangladesh Buildcon 2016’ and ‘JAT presents 2nd Bangladesh Wood 2016’ began today, May 26, 2016 in Dhaka.
