IS promises violence in Bangladesh
The Islamic State (IS) is expanding its reach around the globe, and its latest focus is on Bangladesh. In the newest edition of its glossy magazine, Dabiq, the head of Islamic State operations in Bangladesh, Sheikh Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif, discussed the group's goals for the country. The group has carried out some small attacks in the country, but it wants to conduct a large attack to boost its credentials among local jihadists and promote the interests of the larger organization. As has been the case elsewhere, however, established jihadist groups in Bangladesh pose a challenge to the Islamic State's ambitions.

Poverty prevent people from accessing potential housing options, and make others hard to sustain. There are significant linkages between housing and poverty. These have impact on people's lives and livelihood. As such, these linkages deserve greater attention so that they can be properly addressed.
Focusing on current location, situation, practices and existing law for the housing for the poor, and to find possible strategies and options according to those issues, Bangladesh Urban Forum and Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh jointly organized a round table discussion on the topic “Housing for the poor; strategies and options”. Bangladesh eager to learn from Korea’s experience
Korea’s fast economic development is a role model for Bangladesh, which aims to become a middle-income country in seven years, the Ambassador of Bangladesh says.
Zulfiqur Rahman, who was appointed to Korea about 11 months ago, praised Korea for its rapid transformation and ethical world culture, all of which his country has tried to learn.
“We in Bangladesh envy the Korean model of development,” the ambassador said at a luncheon hosted by the Embassy of Bangladesh at Lotte Hotel Seoul on April 20.
