Two businesses fined Tk9,000 in Chuadanga

The National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate (NCRPD) of Chuadanga conducted an operation in the Bara Bazar area of Chuadanga town and fined two businesses Tk 9,000 for not displaying proper price lists.

During the raid, wholesale and retail shops selling essential commodities were monitored. Sheikh Barek Store, owned by Md. Abdul Basit Sheikh, was fined Tk 2,000, while Messrs. JS Store, owned by Md. Sanowar Hossain, faced a penalty of Tk 7,000 for failing to maintain accurate price lists.

The operation was led by Mohammad Mamunul Hasan, Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, Chuadanga.

He stated that traders were advised to sell products at fair prices, properly display price lists, maintain purchase and sales vouchers, and refrain from selling expired goods.
