Week-long training on SPSS begings at DU

A week-long training programme on “Data Analysis Using SPSS” organized by the Department of Zoology of DhakaUniversity under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) began on Sunday at the ‘Prof Dr Mahmud-Ul-Ameen Auditorium’ of the department.

The programme is funded by the World Bank and the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) conducted the project.

_DSC0185DU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain inaugurated the programme as chief guest.

Chairman of the Department of Zoology Prof Dr MA Howlader presided over the programme while Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof Dr Md Imdadul Hoque and Dean of the Faculty of Earth & Environmental Sciences Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal addressed as special guests.

Sub-Project Manager of HEQEP Prof Dr Gulshan Ara Latifa delivered welcome address.

Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain in his speech hoped that the training programme would enhance the quality of participants to conduct biological research, survey and preserve data for biodiversity research. He also wished success of the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project.

It may be mentioned that a total of 25 participants, including research assistants of the project, M Phil and PhD researchers and teachers from various universities are attending the training programme.
