Country reels under intense heat wave

The entire country continued to reel under scorching heat as the mercury shot up to 40.6 degrees Celsius today making it one of the hottest days of this year. Govt to prepare tower business in telecom sector

The government will prepare tower business in telecom sector considering customer interest as well as environmental concern, state minister for posts and telecommunication Tarana Halim said. The minister  was addressing a seminar as chief guest on ‘The Prospect of Tower Business in Bangladesh’, organized by a Telecom Reporters Network, Bangladesh (TRNB) in a local hotel, on Thursday, says a press release. “Uncontrolled tower of telecom harm environment…….we will consider level playing field to allow new player for tower business but up gradation of network would also be considered during policy in this regard,” she said.

Brigadier Ziaul Ahsan joins NSI

Brigadier General Ziaul Ahsan, former additional director general (ADG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), today joined National Security Intelligence (NSI) as its director. Ahsan joined Bangladesh Army as a commissioned officer in 1991 and was appointed as the Brig Ahsanjpgdirector of intelligence wing of RAB in 2010.
