Bangla Olympiad at ITHS marking Language Day

In a tribute to all martyrs of 1952, the International Turkish Hope School (ITHS) celebrates the International Mother Language Day by organizing a Bangla Olympiad every year. The Bangla Olympiad is an annual Inter-school competition arranged for the students to cultivate their interest and intellect in Bangla. In addition, the Olympiad aims to promote the rich Bengali Culture and Language among the young generation of Bangladesh.

Numerous schools and colleges of both English and Bangla medium curriculum, take part in this inter-school competition. With the involvement of prominent intellectuals, artists, IMG_2315linguists, academicians and media personnel, the school had organized the 5th Inter-school Bangla Olympiad with much success.

The Award Distribution Ceremony for the Bangla Olympiad took place on 23th February 2016 at the Dhaka Regency Hotel.

This year a total of 938 students from 31 schools with 44 branches participated in five categories: Singing, Poem Recitation, Essay Writing, Dance and Drawing. Among all the participants, 105 of them were awarded with crests and cheques.

The Award Ceremony was honored by the presence of Chief Guest, Md. Shahriar Alam, MP, State Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Special Guest Prof. Md. Hamidul Haque, Director General, National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM).

The Principal of the International Turkish Hope School, Mr. Bedrettin Suata, presented crests of appreciation to the Honorable Chief Guest and the Special Guest for their invaluable support of the 5th Bangla Olympiad.

The Honorable Chief Guest, Md. Shariar Alam, State Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed over laptops installed with Bangla keyboards to all of the participating schools’ principals, to encourage further education of the Bangla language with the help of Technology.

The Honorable Chief Guest also, congratulated the organizers, the school management, teachers and all the participating schools for their efforts to make this grand event possible.

The program ended with the photo session followed by lunch.
