A high level team of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) headed by Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder of BUFT & the Chairman of the Board of Trustees made an exposure visit to Sri Lanka from 9 to 14 August 2015.
The visit was organized by MDF Consultancy of Netherlands which is implementing the project NICHE/BGD/199 with NUFFIC financing under the title “Corporate Social Responsibility, SRHR and Innovative Leadership in the Ready Made Garments Sector of Bangladesh”. The visit was planned to see how Sri Lankan garment factories are implementing CSR policies successfully.
The purpose of their visit was to provide an opportunity to observe and discuss state-of-the- art practices in CSR/SRHR in a South Asian context. This is aimed to create an opportunity for a dialogue between BUFT management and BGMEA members with regard to the development of CSR practices in RMG sector of Bangladesh. Finalizing of the strategic plan for the successful implementation of the project activities was a major purpose of this visit.

Participants from Netherlands were: Ms. Ineke Anne Pitts, Coordinator of the project, Dr. Andre Nijhof andMr. Michiel Brandt from Nyenrode Business University, Ms. Tessa Groenan from MVO, Netherlands and Ms. Tahmina Shafique from MDF, Netherlands.
