Syeda Rizwana, Farida Akhtar in advisory council

Chief Executive of Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (Bela) Syeda Rizwana Hasan and noted women's rights activist Farida Akhtar confirmed that they received phone calls today from the authorities concerned inviting them to be on the advisory council of the new interim government. As many as 209 inmates have reportedly escaped from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur. The escape attempt resulted in deaths of six inmates, who were shot by security personnel.
