With the slogan ‘Droher Shikhay Gore Tuli Protirodher Prachir’ Jahangirnagar University Debate organization (JUDO) organised a three-day long national debate competition with a view to creating awareness about child rights and raising voice against child abuse and torture here at campus on Thursday.
In association with Manusher Jonno Foundation, JUDO chalked out numerous programmes includes rally, a seminar on child rights, Inter-department and Inter –university debate competitions.
At a press conference on Wednesday, JUDO secretary Sheikh Rahat Rahaman disclosed the arrangement on behalf of the organisation around 4:00 pm at JU Journalists Association.
The programme is scheduled to be inaugurated at Zahir Rayhan Auditorium at 3:30 pm today.
A total of 16 public and private universities have registered to participate in the programme while 36 departments of JU will participate in an inter-department debate competition.
State Minister for Posts and Telecommunication Tarana Halim is expected to be present in the concluding and prize giving ceremony as the chief guest while JU VC Prof Farzana Islam will be the special guest.
