The Center for Governance, Policy, and Advocacy (CGPA) is a non-profit research andeducational institution established by a number of professionals from different developmental platforms all over the world followed by universityprofessionals, public and private officials, & researchers. The organization is going to arrange a month-long need-based training course on research entitled “Social Research Training Course for the Beginners” for international and Bangladeshi students. The training course will cover why and how social research works, how to write a research proposal, research methods e.g. observational, experimental, cross-sectional, case-control, and case-series, etc. qualitative research design, quantitative research design, mixed-method approach research design, sampling and sample size determination, literature review and its steps, data collection methods and tools i.e. interview, in-depth interview , survey, key informants interview, case study, focus group discussions, observation, etc. and research report and writing for journal article publication. The program will be held from July 1, 2020 to July 31, 2020 by using virtual platform.
Dr. Md Nazirul Islam Sarker, an Associate Professor of Neijiang Normal University, Sichuan, China, Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Researcher of 60 Decibels, Inc., USA, Kazi Abu Saleh, Assistant Manager -Research, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), MohammadSehab Uddin, Research Fellow, Centre for Governance Studies (CGS), Dhakaand Mohiuddin Khan Al Amin, Research Officer, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh -icddr,b will play their roles as course instructors. Meanwhile, more than hundreds national and foreign students have already enlisted to participate this training session from renowned public and private universities including DU, CU, JnU, JKKNIU, CoU, BUP,SUST, BSMRSTU, DMC, BU, IU, Open University, PSTU, HSTU, BRAC, East West University, NSU, Ravenshaw University, India and Shenzhen University, China.
The course coordinators have informed that this course will play aneffective role in learning research for the aspirants of higher studies, research-based career planners and anybody interested to doresearch since the research is the ultimate way of social and national development.
