Govt to promote mobile app development

The Bangladesh government has started up a BDT 2.82 billion project to develop mobile applications for both local and international markets.

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council approved the project, which will earthquake buddybe implemented with domestic resources in the period through 2018. Mobile game and app development academies will be established at eight divisional headquarters, while mobile game and app labs, app testing labs and training points will be set up at local educational institutions in 30 districts, The Daily Star reported.

Under the project, the government will run awareness and publicity programmes about games and apps along with online quality assurance examination and evaluation of the apps.
