Hepatitis awareness seminar at BUFT

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) arranged an open seminar and free screening of hepatitis for the students on Tuesday (19th January, 2016) in its auditorium.

The program was jointly organized by National Liver Foundation of Bangladesh and the Youth Club of Bangladesh. It was supported by the British Council and BUFT Angels Leo Club. The picpurpose of the program was creating awareness among the youth about hepatitis. About 100 students have participated at the blood screening to detect the presence of hepatitis. At the end of the seminar they also participated in a quiz session regarding hepatitis issue. Prizes were awarded to winning students.

Vice Chancellor of BUFT Prof. Dr. Syed Masud Husain was present as the Chief Guest. The program was also attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali, General Secretary of National Liver Foundation of Bangladesh. A foreign team named “Active Citizen” consisting of 30 students from different countries sponsored by the British Council was present in the event. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Mr. Sayed Masud Hossain, Head of the Society from the Dhaka office of British Council, high officials and students of BUFT also attended the program.
