An inter-university national debate competition 2016 titled “Sustainable development & Green Economy” was held at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) auditorium on Sunday (15th May 2016). The event was organized by BUFT Debate Club.
A total of 10 national and private universities of Dhaka city are participating in this competition named Jahangir Nagar University, Jagannath University, Dhaka College, 
Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Green University, Prime Asia University, University of Asia Pacific, Daffodil International University, Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), and BUFT.
Vice Chancellor of BUFT Prof. Dr. Syed Masud Husain inaugurated the three day long debate competition. Among the others honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan; honourable Registrar Mr. A N M Rafiqul Alam; Mr. Engr. Faruk Ahmed, Sr. lecturer & Co-chairman of BUFT Debate Club; Mr. Md. Atikur rahman, Moderator of BUFT Debate Club; faculty members, officials and all members of BUFT Debate Club were present on the occasion.
