SUST teachers observe 3hr work abstention

 A faction of pro-Awami League teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) observed half-day, 3 hours work abstention on Wednesday again protesting the attack on them by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men on Sunday and demanding immediate removal of its Vice Chancellor Professor Aminul Haque Bhuyan from his post.


Teachers under the banner “Mohan Muktijuddher Chetonay Udbuddho Shikkhakgon” observed work abstention from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

The teachers also observed same program on Monday. The teachers also brought out a silence procession wearing black badges and paraded the main streets at campus and ended at in front of the VC’s office. They also held a rally at here. The final exams were, however, kept outside the protest purview.

Speakers at the rally said, the VC has been lying in media blaming the teachers that, the agitated teachers assaulted him on Sunday morning.

The teachers, those who undergoing movement demanding immediate removal of VC, came under attack by SUST BCL men on Sunday morning when they came to observe their pre-scheduled sit-in program over the demand.

At least 8 teachers were injured following the attack and two female teachers and 6 journalists were assaulted at that time.
