Dengue: 1 dead, 240 hospitalized in 24 hrs
One person died of dengue while 240 others were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours (till 8am today).
It was said in a release of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday. With the latest, the death toll from dengue rose to 64 while the number of dengue patients admitted to different hospitals reached 2,282. Of the new patients, 192 are admitted to different hospital in capital Dhaka while 48 are outside of Dhaka. With the new cases, the total number of dengue patients this year rose to 19,523 while some 17,177 patients were released from the hospitals. Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the bond between Bangladesh and India is rooted in blood and the friendship has further strengthened under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

HSC, equivalent exams from Nov 6, schedule published
The schedule for this year's Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent exams has been published.
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board released the schedule for all educational boards on Monday, reports UNB.
According to the schedule, written HSC exams will begin on November 6 and will continue till December 13. Practical exams will be held from December 15 to 22, according to the routine.
HSC exams will be held from 11 am to 1 pm and 2pm to 4pm for different subjects.

AL leader Sajeda Chowdhury no more
Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, presidium member of Awami League and deputy leader of the House, passed away early hours of Monday. She was 87. She had been ill for a long and died at CMH while under treatment, her family said.
PM Hasina urges the US to lift sanctions against Russia
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday asked the US to withdraw the sanctions it imposed on Russia as their punitive action is causing immense suffering across the globe.
"I think that it is justified to retreat from the act of punishing one country which is hurting the people of the whole world,” she said while inaugurating the new building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, reports UNB.
