82,500 students get primary scholarships

Eighty-two thousand and five hundred students got scholarship in Primary School Terminal Examinations- 2015.

Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman formally published the results at a press conference at the conference room of the ministry today.

The results are available on the website www.dpe.gov.bd.

The minister said the amount of starship money has been increased from this year along with raising the number of scholarships.

The amount for talentpool scholarship has been increased to Taka 300 from Taka 200 while general scholarship to Taka 225 from Taka 150.

He said 33,000 students are getting talentpool scholarships and 49,500 students general scholarships this year.

The minister said these upazila-based scholarships are given through primary terminal examinations to prevent school dropout, increase school attendance and help flourish merit of the students.

As the students compete to get scholarships, it helps improving standard of education, he added.
