British Council expands IELTS test venue in city

The British Council recently announced expansion of its IELTS test operations in Dhaka, with opening of its new IELTS test venue at Pallabi, Mirpur.

Deep Adhikari, British Council’s Director of Examinations said, “The addition of this new venue would add greater convenience to the lives of an ever-increasing number of IELTS candidates in Bangladesh. Over the years, the British Council has introduced a wide range of IELTS candidate support and improved access to the test for candidates”.

IELTS is the world’s most popular English language test for higher education and global

migration, with over 2.7 million tests taken last year in 140 countries, in Bangladesh over 30,000 tests were taken. IELTS test is being conducted by British Council in 5 major cities of Bangladesh, which includes Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Khulna. The IELTS test is trusted by over 9,000 organisations, including universities, professional bodies, employers and migration authorities in UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.

IELTS candidates can now register online for taking a test at the newly opened Mirpur venue along with the other existing venues in Banani, Basundhara, Dhanmondi and Uttara. Candidates can also choose a preferred date and time to sit for an exam online. Moreover, continuous efforts to improve the registration process and exam day experience have specially contributed to the soaring popularity of the IELTS test conducted by the British Council.
