European Union (EU)’s future development partnership with Bangladesh will largely be focused on the development of skills and education among the youth, said EU Ambassador in Bangladesh, William Hanna. Hanna was addressing the Certificate Presentation Ceremony to the apprentices trained under the TVET project,  organised by the project’s lead agency International Labour Organisation (ILO) at a city hotel on Saturday. Referring to the success of the EU-assisted Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) project in the country, he said the TVET was a very good example where the government, different organisations from the private sector and international development partners worked together to achieve good results...

A group of professors and researchers from Mexico, Poland and India called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique on Thursday at the latter’s office. The researchers and professors present were Prof Dr Ana Teresa Gutierrez del Cid, Dr Graciela Perez Gavilan Rojas, Dr Rosario Arroyo Velasco and Dr Erika Hinsen from Metropolitan Autonomous University, Mexico; Prof Dr Sivanandan Sivakumar from Indian Law Institute (Deemed University), Dr Lisa P Lukose from University School of  Law and  Legal Studies (USLLS), India and Tomasz Lachowski, a PhD candidate from University of Lodz, Poland.
