A Bangladeshi boat club in UK is using its annual fundraising boat race to provide swimming lessons to youngsters in the Asian community. Won’t make anything controversial: Rohit on ‘Singham Returns’

Reacting to reports of a right-wing Hindu organisation expressing displeasure over a scene in his upcoming film ‘Singham Returns’, director Rohit Shetty said he has never shown anything controversial in his films and would continue to do so in future. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has written to the the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), citing that the film depicts Hindu saints in a bad light, “which hurts the religious sentiment of the believers of the faith”. The organisation apparently has objected to a dialogue in the film. However, Shetty said, “They have not seen the scene. We will have a discussion with them. I am a commercial filmmaker and I know how business is important. I will never do any such thing or make a film that is controversial ever.”

The fans of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3′ will have to wait longer as the web-casting superhero’s arrival in theatre has been delayed by almost two years. Dev, Moon Moon chosen for ‘Mahanayak’ awards  

Actor-turned-MPs Dev and Moon Moon Sen would be felicitated with the Mahanayak and Mahanayika Samman, the highest film award given by the West Bengal government. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will give the annual ‘Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Samman’ at Nazrul Mancha stadium tomorrow to felicitate the actors and technicians of the Bengali film industry. On her Facebook page, Banerjee said veteran actress Mousumi Chatterjee and reigning Bengali film superstar Dev will be the recipients of this year’s ‘Mahanayak Samman’ while Moonmoon Sen will receive the ‘Mahanayika Samman’. Both Dev and Sen had won the recent Lok Sabha polls on a Trinamool ticket.
