Case filed against LabAid MD over death of student

News Desk A case was filed on Monday against seven people including managing director of Labaid Specialised Hospital over the death of a HSC student due to alleged wrong treatment. The seven accused are Labaid Specialised Hospital managing director Dr AM Shamim, branch manager (Dhanmandi) Md Shahjahan, Dr Md Saifullah, Dr Maksud, Dr Sabbir Ahmed, Dr Mosharraf and Dr Kanak. Bangladesh holding free trade talks with 11 countries

Bangladesh is discussing free trade agreements with 11 countries, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in an exclusive interview, as the South Asian country seeks new means to promote exports once preferential tariff exemptions expire in three years. The prime minister spoke with Nikkei Asia at her official residence in Dhaka ahead of a visit to Japan -- her first in four years -- that starts next Tuesday. During the trip, Hasina and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are expected to agree to upgrade bilateral ties to a "strategic comprehensive partnership." This comes as Japan ramps up infrastructure investment in the strategically situated country on the shores of the Indian Ocean, countering China's Belt and Road Initiative.

UNYSAB concludes Eid for street children event

Staff Reporter A massive event titled ‘Eid for Street Children’ has been organised by United Nations Youth and Student Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB), Chattogram division  held at Southern University in Chattogram on Sunday The event aims to bring smiles to the face of children in need on the occasion of Eid. The donation has been collected from April 9th which is concluded on April 15th, with both online and in-person fundraising initiatives. This year the celebration committee shopped for groceries for disabled families with children, residing near, Arefin Nagar, dirt depot under the Bayezid Bostami police station.

With huge kickbacks, they began to occupy the political spaces also. Thus an immoral process of the economy began to rise, which Dr Akbar Ali Khan defined as ‘Shuyorer Bacchader Orthonity (Economy of Bastards)’. I would rather dare to dub it a ‘criminal economy’.
