Rights group urges ICC to investigate Bangladesh
An Islamic rights group is urging the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands, to investigate the government of Bangladesh for alleged crimes against humanity in persecuting its political foes.
British lawyer Toby Cadman said he filed the request on behalf of the International Coalition for Freedoms of Rights a month after Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party won elections marred by violence and a boycott by the main opposition party.
International Criminal Court prosecutor Fatou Bensouda will decide whether to launch an investigation after studying the application.

India says Mollah’s execution internal judicial outcome
Abdul Qauder Mollah's execution is an outcome of the internal judicial processes and laws of Bangladesh, said India reiterating its previous stance on Bangladesh’s internal matters.
Official spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs, India Syed Akbaruddin on Friday came up with the remark in response to questions on Bangladesh, including the statement of opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, according to a media release issued by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
“We’re confident that as a democracy the people of Bangladesh will resolve their differences through dialogue and peaceful means, in an atmosphere free of violence,” Akbaruddin said.

The UK Immigration officers arrested four Bangladeshi illegal workers in Uttlesford following a raid in Thaxted.
On Friday evening (December 6) by Home Office immigration enforcement officers swooped on the India Villa in Watling Street.
They were acting on intelligence. Checks revealed that four members of staff were breaking UK immigration rules.
