A workshop on “Consumer Rights and Food Adulteration” held at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan Auditorium of Jahangirnagar University (JU) here on campus yesterday. Consumer Youth JU unit of Consumer Care Society (CCS) hosted the workshop with a view to raising awareness among the students.
At the programme, Prof AA Mamun said, “The adulteration is a serious crime; it is high time we raised the voice against food adulteration”. He also urged to the consumers to be aware of their rights and careful of taking adulterated food”.
Barun Kanti Saha, principle scientific officer of Institute of Food Science and Technology under Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), Tapos Kumar Das, lecturer of Law and Justice Institute of JU and Polash Mahmud, secretary of consumer care society were present at the workshop.
Mentionable, around 300 students from different departments took part at the workshop following certificate distributed among the participant.
