DU, ICAB sign MoU

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and Dhaka University on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to allow exemption for the students to study CA subject to fulfilling certain criteria.

The MoU outlines the subjects’ waiver for the students of BBA and MBA of the Department of Accounting System and Information (AIS) of Dhaka University. Under this MoU , the students Signing Ceremony of DU & ICABwill be eligible for exemption in Accounting, Business and Finance, Management Information, Business and Commercial Law and IT Knowledge.

The signing ceremony took place with the presence of DU Vice Chancellor Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique as Chief Guest at a formal ceremony at the the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban with ICAB President Adeeb Hossain Khan FCA and DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin.

Mr. Arefin Siddique said this MoU will help to build career in Chartered Accountancy. Stressing on accountability culture in society, he said under the dynamic leadership of chartered accountants, proper utilization of wealth and its accountability would be ensured. Every professional should have the responsibility to ensure accountability in every sphere of life, he stated. He said, I believe this signing of MoU is the rudimentary work to make realisation among the students about accountability which would lead them success in career.

ICAB President Adeeb Hossain said that learning partnership with the Dhaka University is the long awaited initiative which opens one step close to study Chartered Accountancy. He urged the students of AIS department to make best use of this opportunity.

Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and ICAB council members Mahmudul Hasan Khusru FCA delivered inspirational words for the students in CA studying.

Among others spoke on the occasion, DU treasurer Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, AIS department chairman professor Abdul Hakim and professor Dr. Mahfuzul Hoque.
