If the ICT Division of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the Institution of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh(ICAB) work together, the future digital Balance of Payment (BoP) destination would be- Bangladesh.
As chief guest Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), GOB made the remark at the launching ceremony of ICAB ERP System, CAATT Software and Online CPD Participation System & a Members’ Conference on Wednesday, 23 November 2016.
Kamrul Abedin FCA, President- ICAB delivered welcome speech in the program while ICAB Council Member & Past President Muhammed Farhad Hussain FCA, and Council Member Gopal 
Chandra Ghosh FCA made presentations on ‘CAATT Software for CA Firms’ and on ‘Overview of ICAB ERP Project. ICAB council member & past president and chairman of ICT Committee Akhtar Sohel Kasem FCA conducted the CONFERENCE as Session Chairman.
Citing some examples in India, Sri Lanka and Philippine, the minister said there is a huge scope in the country to create employment opportunity for youths who can earn huge amount of foreign currency through accounting BoP outsourcing.
The Minister said that the government is working in four sectors; e-governance, hardware and software services, global connectivity and digital based industrialization through giving priority in knowledge based economy and digital economy.
ICAB and ICT division may take jointly short term and long term projects to elevate the traditional economy to digital based economy, he stated. He expressed willingness that ICT Division of the Ministry may be the partner of SAFA International conference in Dhaka in January 2017 to be organized by ICAB.
ICAB President Kamrul Abedin said digital Bangladesh means application of digital technologies to realize vision 2021. We started Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project and Computer assisted audit techniques and tools (CAATT) for digitalizing all activities of the Institute.
The basic goal of using an ERP system is to provide one central repository for all information that is shared by various facets to improve the flow of data across the organization, he said and added that ICAB also took CAATT Project for capacity building of CA Firms to digitalized the activities of practicing members.
