JU teachers, students protest Rajon’s murder

The teachers and the students of Jahangirnagar University formed a human chain protesting the killing of Samiul Alam Rajon, a 13-year old boy who was tortured to death mercilessly at Kumargaon in Sylhet on July 8.

Dikkha, a students’ organisation, works for the right of street children organized the 11822688_808436245936133_5213215336937262627_nprogramme while the teachers and students of the university took part in the protest programme held at central Shaheed Minar primses.

Spekers demanded highest punishment of the perpetrators to discourage murders and lynchings. They said, it’s a heart touching scene that the gang had hit him with a metal bar after tying with a rope and also filmed for almost half an hour.

Among others, Prof Abdullah-Hel-Kafi of International Relations Dept, Prof Samima Sultana of Bangla, Assistant Professor Nurul Kabir of Archeology, JU unit BCL president and secretary Mahmudur Rahman Jony and Rajib Ahmed Rasel respectively and BCL Organizing Secretary Foysal Hossain Dipu were present on the protest programme while Md Ujjol Akond, President of Dikkha, chaird the programme.
